Treatment works! The above children are healthy, active and normal kids.... The teacher is in serious trouble. This picture was taken several years ago before HIV/AIDs treatment was available.... The dramatic picture is from Paul Farmers work in Hatti. This is a patient with TB and HIV/AIDS before and after 9 months of treatment. These medicines work.... The first time HIV/AIDs treatment became available to the general public in Malawi was in 2007. It still requires monthly visits to the hospital. The epidemic is adding additional stress to an already overburden system.... Now historical blood samples reveal HIV/AIDS was present in Malawi as early as 1982.
